Photographers are invited to participate in the NSW Parliamentary Plein Air Photographic Prize - set up to complement the three year old NSW Parliamentary Plein Air Painting Prize. The topic of the competition is New South Wales landscape.

The Parliamentary Plein Air Photographic Prize is an acquisitive competition offering awards of $10,000, $3,000, $2,000.

The annual acquisition of these photographic works will form the basis of a Collection of Plein Air photographs to be owned by NSW Parliament for the people of NSW.

A gala event announcing the winners will be held at Parliament House on Thursday 4 August 2011.

Finalists' works will be exhibited at New South Wales Parliament House from 2 August to 25 August 2011.

The inaugural NSW Parliamentary Plein Air Photographic Secondary Schools Competition has been established to provide secondary school students with an opportunity to develop their skills as photographers. The first three prize winners will have their works exhibited with the open section Plein Air Finalists' works at the NSW Parliament House and will be part of the gala event at Parliament House on the evening of 4 August 2011.
